Alright, I’d just like to start by saying thank you to everybody for coming tonight – I really appreciate it – and for being interested in learning more about this subject. I also want to thank College Hill United Methodist for graciously agreeing to host the event. My name is Matthew…

HEY TUMBLR PEOPLE: Listen up!

This is important. Watch this.

Matthew Vines is the founder of Veritaserum, an old-school Harry Potter site. He’s also just a wonderful and brilliant young person who, in the past, has saved thousands of lives through anti-genocide campaigns.

He’s been somewhat missing from our Harry Pottery spheres for awhile, but now we can see why: he has spent two years studying the bible and now presents a treatise about the problems that holiest of texts presents on being gay and a Christian at the same time. As a gay youth himself, but certainly not for only that reason, he presents a very clear, rational, compassionate and heartfelt argument on this subject.

This should be one of those viral YouTube lectures, like the sugar one. Spread it around! But of course, watch it, read it (transcript on his Tumblr), understand it, absorb it.

This is TRULY worth the time.
