Dear friends.

For too long, my website has been broken, undeveloped, and weird. It was like a HAUNTED HOUSE, except ONLINE. No more, friends. No more.

This is my NEW AND SHINY SITE, where content will be FRESH. Blog posts will be REGULAR. I will be bringing back ASK AUNTIE MJ, so you can email me your questions.

You can also SIGN UP for my newsletter! It will not BOTHER you by coming often–it is purely a place to share SPECIAL SECRETS WITH PALS.

Please do have a LOOK AROUND and let me know what you think!

Hi Maureen – I was 10 years old when your novel. 13 Little Blue Envelopes, entered the world. It took me a few more years to discover it.I reread it multiple times, holding up elevators, becoming a recluse at family gatherings, utterly and completely absorbedin Ginny’s search for the envelopes, her clueless and yet adventurous voice and attempt to follow her aunt’s instructions,..and of course, the unexpected but also totally expected romance with a foreigner. Today I am 23 years old. I myself will be setting out on a life journey shortly, maybe not as grand as Ginny’s (but one can hope?) I plan to reread 13 Little Blue Envelopes and write down all my favorite quotes and wish I had an aunt who’d leave envelopes for me! Your book changed my life. That is all! Oh, also, I followed you on Instagram. Have a wonderful day. -Rachel

I just finished Truly Devious. As I got closer to the end and could see how few pages remained, I got that feeling- the feeling that the author is not going to explain everything. The last three words let me relax. Not all of my questions were answered but that’s okay because I know they will be.I loved Truly Devious. I have a 17-year-old daughter who suffers from anxiety so even though I’m way past being a young adult, I live with one who is like Stevie in a lot of ways.I can’t wait until the next book!

I am new to your books. I have only read Truly Devious and The Vanishing Stair so far. I stayed up until 5:00AM this morning to finish the second book. I couldn’t put these two books down. I LOVED THEM!!!! I’m sad the third book isn’t out yet. But I will be reading all your other books while I wait for the last installment in the Truly Defious Series.

  • Hey everyone. I need to tell you about Dobby. Dobby is a rescue pup in NYC looking for a forever home. I’ve met him several times, as his foster mom works at a place I frequent. Dobby is…incredible. He’s so sweet. So gentle. So soft. So loving. He lives to cuddle in your arms with his velvety fur. If Dexy wasn’t such a one-dog-one-family kind of girl, I would have adopted him already. All dogs are special but Dobby is exceptional. Holding him is like a month of therapy. This dude needs a great forever home and a best friend.

  • I am SO EXCITED to announce the new stand alone Stevie Bell mystery. NINE LIARS is coming on December 27th.⁣ ⁣ Senior year at Ellingham Academy for Stevie Bell isn’t going well. Her boyfriend, David, is studying in London. Her friends are obsessed with college applications. With the cold case of the century solved, Stevie is adrift. There is nothing to distract her from the questions pinging around her brain—questions about college, love, and life in general.⁣ ⁣ Relief comes when David invites Stevie and her friends to join him for study abroad, and his new friend Izzy introduces her
